How To Make A Crayon Melt Picture

Most crafts you find on the internet require going to a store and spending a ton of money on crazy expensive materials or someone trying to convince you what you are using isn’t the most amazing product and trick you into buying something way expensive. Here at LLR, we know you may not be able to do that, and nowadays finding a fun, interactive, easy and cheap at-home DIY is super hard. That’s why we make our crafts super easy, super cheap using the supplies you have around the house.

For this craft you will need:

 - A canvas
- Around 20 crayons (in any age or form, no worries if they aren’t new 😊)
- A hot glue gun
- Hair Dryer
- Meltable hot glue gun glue sticks
- A black printed silhouette image (optional)
- Sharpie (preferably thin point, optional)

 1. Take a canvas outside on a warm-ish day. Find a plug to hook the hot glue gun up. Make sure that it is okay to get melted crayon where you are. If you want, you can unwrap the crayons.
 2. Place a line of hot glue on the back of the crayon, then, before the glue dries place it on the top of the canvas
 3. Repeat step two over and over again with alternating colors until you have arranged them how you like. Make sure they are evenly spaced across the canvas, not leaving large spaces in between crayons.
 4. If you chose to print and cut out a silhouette, hot glue that to a bottom corner of the canvas. Then, cover it with some masking tape (make sure it is not to sticky and is easy to pull off, but sticky enough to stay on why you are melting the crayons!)
5. Unplug the hot glue gun and plug in the hairdryer. Blow hot air over the crayons evenly. Make sure the canvas is at a slant so that the melted crayon runs down. It should take about ten minutes to make a satisfactory crayon melt.
6. Leave the crayon art to dry outside, about 15 minutes.

Now you have a new wall hanging! Hope you had fun! Below is an example made by one of our creators here at LLR!
