How to Make Your Very Own Mockingjay Pin — Hunger Games DIY’s

Image
Jello, everyone! (That was not a misspelling) Today we are going to make our very own Mockingjay Pin like Katniss Everdeen. Let’s get started! You want to find a good mockingjay pin picture online. Or you art geeks who can actually draw, making it in paper would be cool, too.  Any one you want, just make sure you size it down when you put it into a google document so that it looks realistic. I chose this one: Then you want to print it (Either black and white or colorful, depending on whether you want this craft to be more interactive). Now, if you printed it black and white you can go in with a yellow marker and color in the mockingjay. Cut it out as best you can. Find a safety pin and a small piece of tape and tape one side of the pin to the paper. Clip it onto your shirt. Looks almost real! Make sure to be gentle with it or you can laminate it if you have that power since it is only paper. The Real Katniss Everdeen: Our costume: Happy Hunger Games, Everyone and

The Land of Nightmares Story

Hey Everyone,  Recently we have been writing a lot in my language arts class. Today I am going to share the prologue of my Land of Nightmares Story! Enjoy! ««  Prologue  »» When I woke up, I was lying face up and a cold, solid surface. Above me were the tall, cavernous cliffs of Dream Valley. The surface I was lying on felt like concrete, but smoother. My hands slid across it very easily and it wasn’t rough to the touch. I slowly blinked a few times to wake up my eyes. It suddenly occurred to me that my head hurt. I reached up to feel it and when I pulled my hand away it was soaked with blood. I must have hit it on the drop down, I thought. I’ll just find a way out of here, get home and get my head attended to. As I moved to sit up, my head got heavy and yet, somehow still light-headed. I lay back down and I tried to remember how I got here, but my brain could only pull small details of falling down the rocky side of the cliff and then everything going dark. I tried sitting up to tr

DIY Washi Tape Light-switch Covers!

Image
Hello, Everybody! Happy Thanksgiving from LLR! It’s been such a long time since I have blogged because I was so busy with school starting up again, but I recently came across an amazing craft that is super easy and a HUGE boredom buster! Like you might have seen from the title, today I will be walking you step by step through the simple process of making your very own personalized washi tape light - switch cover. It’s super easy and super fun! Let’s get started! For this craft you will need the following supplies -   - A light - switch cover  - Washi Tape - A screwdriver  - an alcohol swab (optional) - clear packing tape (optional) You will need the screwdriver to get the light - switch cover off of the wall. Once you have the cover off of the wall,  you can use the alcohol swab to clean the surface of the cover. This part is optional, however the times when I did clean it, I was able to get a lot of stuff off and the tape stuck to the cover even better. If you don’t have an alcohol s

2020 - Weirdest Year Ever?

Image
Hi everyone! I did a post like this back towards the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, but I figured I do another, because 2020 was a weird year. So I gathered up some of the craziest things that have happened in 2020 (not including the many pandemic-related things), and share them with you! These are only a few of the many, many things that have happened, but they are still a lengthy list. So let’s get started! (Reddit) Weird dates: First off, March 19th was the first day of spring everywhere in the USA (despite time zones). Leap year: 2020 was a leap year, an extra day in February Impeachment in USA: Donald Trump was officially impeached on February 5, 2020. Part of the impeachment took place in 2019, but also in 2020.
