Image
Hi, Amelia here! I will be writing an article on the Mr Printables Alphabet Pompom Tutorial:   Link So I saw this and obviously was like ‘oh my gosh this looks awesome’. Well it sounds awesome, but it is very hard! So I tried it, and it took me a TUN of tries to get an A. And an A is one of the easier ones! I included pictures of my tries, and it is so hard. I 10/10 suggest this craft, but I also think this is a REALLY hard craft. So I sat in my room for hours trying this and I got one good A out of it. So try it out! Send your’s in! I’d love to see if you guys can do this, or if it’s just me! Top-Best Bottom-Worst

The Best Cookies 🍪

Hi everyone, it’s Amelia. I’m here to share my favorite cookie recipe. It is homemade, and yummy! I won’t share who came up with it, for privacy reasons. It’s been improving for over 20 years, and it makes delicious cookie dough and scrumptious cookies. I usually double this recipe, but you don’t have to, and the recipe bellow fills two large cookie sheets. So without further ado: in one big bowl (dry ingredients): 3 cups flour 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp salt stir together, mixing well in another smaller bowl (wet ingredients): 1 cup of butter (I suggest putting in microwave so it is soft) 1 1/2 c packed light brown sugar cream together until mixed and then add: 2 large eggs 3 tsp vanilla extract  stir mixture together well, but don't beat air into it (should be pourable, slightly chunky is fine) gradually stir into the flour mix. stirring will become increasingly grueling, but keep at it until the flour is mixed in and you have a good dough consis

Reasons To Be Happy Book Review

🚨 spoiler alert 🚨  Hey all, it’s Amelia.  One of my main things I’m doing during quarantine is reading new books. I know most of you probably are too, so I figured that I would post this book review I wrote on the book Reasons To Be Happy by Katrina Kittle. The lexile is low, but the subject matter and writing style easily makes up for that. This is easily one of my favorite books of all time. My review has some minor spoilers, but nothing that will ruin the story. The book will also tell you where we got the idea for our weekly reasons to be happy! Enjoy 😊! Reasons To Be Happy Katrina Kittle YA Realistic Fiction Lexile: 690           In the book Reasons To Be Happy by Katrina Kittle, Hannah Anne Carlisle’s life gets turned upside down and then gets righted again in an emotional and beautiful roller coaster of eighth grade and eating disorders. Reflecting On 2020 So Far

Hi all! Amelia here. So far, 2020 has been a very weird year. You probably all know this, as you are probably all on quarantine right about now, but we will still list the facts. We obviously won’t put the coronavirus pandemic, but we’ll list some other things. Weird dates: First off, March 19th was the first day of spring everywhere in the USA (despite time zones). As a child, some of you learned that the spring equinox happens on either March 20 or March 21. This is the first time in 124 years the first day of spring has occurred on March 19 nationwide! Leap year: 2020 is a leap year, an extra day in February Impeachment in USA: Donald Trump was officially impeached on February 5, 2020. Part of the impeachment took place in 2019, but also in 2020. UFO’s over the plains: At the beginning of January, hundreds of huge, UFO drones were flying over Colorado, Nebraska, and other states around them. Even now, no one knows what happened to them. Lots of wildfires, in the USA,

Some Randomly Cool Websites For You

Hey everyone! It's Amelia again! You are probably all pretty bored during this quarantine (I sure am). And we have some cool (and certainly random) little websites for you. These websites are super fun, and I bet they will keep you occupied for hours. How Many People Are In Space Right Now?  It tells you how many people are in space, who they are, and how long they've been there!  The True Size of States and Countries  Put in the name of a country and The True Size will show you exactly how big that country is in comparison to others. It's fascinating, and it shows you how HUGE Alaska is! Flight Radar  tells you every plane that is in the sky at any given moment and tells you all about the planes flying. Is It Christmas  is the most random website I have ever seen, for sure. It's only useful one day of the year, but hey? Why not. Random Name Generator  is hands down my FAVORITE of these! It can even generate a backstory for the name! Bookmarking this... right...

Trends of Today -- Using google to write my blog posts

Image
Hello! We are so glad to have you at LLR. Whether you have visited before or if this is your first time here, we hope to see you again. Comment down below on what brought you to this blog and what you hope to see in the future. But back to the point. Let's use Google to figure out what's trending in 2020: 1. There's a pandemic going around. Let's see just how popular this virus is: after typing in the first 2 letters of the word 'coronavirus', I can see it at the very bottom of the suggestions list. I tested it and added another letter and then all of the suggestions were coronavirus related. 2. Here at LLR, we appreciate Taylor Swift. What can I say? I don't think she is extremely popular anymore, though. Let's see how many letters it takes for google to guess my word: as you can see, three letters, although she is at the top of the list. Maybe she has more fans than I realized!! 3. I - Naomi - do ballet. I wonder how p

Peep Diorama

Image
Hi all! It's Amelia. We just got this amazing thing sent in by one of our close friends and it is a great idea for all of you crafters out there to keep you busy. It is something their school is doing as a competition. It is a peep diorama. The idea was to pick a scene from a book to model using peeps! She chose Goldilocks And The Three Bears, or Goldipeeps and the Three Peepers. She used hot glue, cardboard, peeps (obviously), a little clay, and some cloth. So without further ado, here the pictures are:  *she included the door*  *made sure to wrap Goldilocks*  *she even included the broken baby bear chair*
