Product Review: Matchy Matchy Sets

Hi all, today I’m doing a play-by-play product review of Matchy Matchy Sets, and online matching English tack store that I recently ordered a pack from. This is going to be a pretty long post, so buckle up!

Why I chose it: So I’d been looking for a matching tack set for Dot and I for a few months. I started with super fancy (therefore way to expensive for my teenage budget) brands like Equestrian Stockholm and LeMieux. To be clear, if you have endless money, I totally recommend those brands, because they are incredibly nice and amazing!
The set also will hopefully be able to be used for years to come, when I eventually compete in jumpers.
But on the review…

Some details about the company:
- they are located in Australia, so their amounts are in Australian Dollars
- they give FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE

The sets come with:

  • Nylon halter with silver plated buckles
  • Matching Lead Rope
  • Saddle Pad with single twist cord
  • Medium protection Tendon and Fetlock Boots
  • Pair of fur lined Bell Boots
  • Ear Bonnet with Single Twist Cord
  • All international orders and only international orders will have the halter and lead removed and a set of bandages put in their place to come under international shipping weight restrictions.

  • My set did not come with the halter or lead (hence the cheaper price), but I didn’t mind because I wouldn’t get it anyway if I got the set due to the shipping weight restrictions.

FAQ’s:  Here are some FAQ’s from their website, which actually cover pretty much everything I need to know!   https://matchymatchysets.com/faqs/

Sizes:  Most sets come with three sizes, Full (Horse), Cob, and Pony. The mint set came with ‘Full Size in Jump Cut’, which is what I got.

Colors:   So, first, they have so many AMAZING, SPECTACULAR, FUN colors! I had my eye on their Aqua/Light Blue color, because I love that color so so much and it looks awesome on Dot.

Price:   Buuuut the $195 was a little (lot) over budget, so I held off. And then, a few weeks later I logged on and found everything on sale!!
So I chose the Mint color because it looks great on Dot and it was on sale for $165! ($117 USD)

    Checkout/Order Process:
I ordered the set on February 2, 2022

The checkout process was super simple and quick, and didn’t require a log in. I just used my debit card and quickly got an email that my order was processing.

(Now I feel like it’s important to add that I was a tad bit nervous about a possible scam, but I was willing to risk it because I loved this set. I did do some Google and Scam website searches to investigate and didn’t find anything, so I was pretty sure I was fine.)

Then, a day later I got the email that my order had been shipped! It didn’t give me an arrival date, which is to be expected since it’s shipping from Australia.

While waiting for my order, I emailed once to get an update and confirm it had been shipped. I then got regular updates about when it reached different towns and then left Australia.
