Fun Facts We Bet You Didn’t Know About Costa Rica

Every week, my sisters and I make a report on a country and make a meal from it. Last week we did Costa Rica. As part of our presentation we do a fun facts slide. We thought we’d share!

  1. Costa Rica means rich coast in English.

  2. There are 7 provinces in Costa Rica:
- Alajuela
- Guanacaste
- Limon
- Heredia
- Puntarenas
- San Jose
- Cartago

  1. You can grow a lot of tropical fruit in Costa Rica because of the warm and humid climate. 

  2. There are 200+  known volcanic formation in Costa Rica and 5 are still active!

  3. There has been no army in Costa Rica since 1948

  4. Every single school in costa Rica requires uniforms.

  5. Costa Rica is the size of West Virginia (relatively)

  6. Costa rica is home to the second strongest animal in the world, the rhinoceros beetle.

30 Day Challenge!

 Hello! We are starting a new series - the 30 day challenge. Every day for 30 days we will post following this schedule -  I got this idea from Annika Lorraine  (click the link to check out her blog!!) Make sure you check out her 30 day challenge as well :) Day 1 - Write ten facts about you!  -   I used to own a pet hedgehog named Boo - unfortunately he died just over a year ago  -  I published a book through NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) when I was 9. It has an ISBN number, but it isn’t for sale anywhere - I own the only two copies that exist  I do ballet, and have done it for most of my life. My favorite role was Clara in the Nutcracker (!!!) - I didn’t get a dog until I was almost 11 - we got Luna Rae in March of 2019 and I love her so so so so much! She is already 2!!!  -  I’ve been to 36+ states! Naomi’s Easy Gluten Free Cookies

Ok, so sorry Amelia, but Naomi has a cookie recipe TO DIE FOR that actually DOES NOT include flour! I know, right? (its a lot easier then Amelia's, too.) So they are technically gluten-free, but you heard it from me you seriously will not be able to tell the difference. Let’s get baking! (hey, amelia here. just saying if you love the taste of cookie dough, my cookies taste like that but are healthier and slightly different) Ingredients: 1 cup peanut butter  🥜 🧈 3/4 cup sugar 1 egg 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp salt 1 cup choc. chips Preheat the oven to 350 degrees   Fahrenheit. Mix the first 5 ingredients with a wooden spoon an add choc chips.  Get hands damp so no dough sticks to your hands. Get a baking sheet. Make small balls (as large as you want the cookies to be since these don’t spread as they bake as much as regular) MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PARCHMENT PAPER UNDERNEATH!  Then, put them in the oven until golden brown (about 18-20 minutes).
