Pet Adoption Essay

Many people all over the world own dogs, cats, or other pets. People would do anything for their dog or cat in the first week, including argue about picking up waste! But, almost all of them say the same thing, their pet helps them focus, deal with stress, and calm down when angry or emotional. Some have cats and say that cuddling with their cat can help them calm down. Others say that their dogs can help when they are feeling anxiety or fear.
Pets can help with anxiety and boredom, but, sadly, many pets never have a chance to leave a shelter. There are lots of animals in shelters and pounds all over the world. There, their helpful and fun prospects turn to violence and desperation, this causes a depressed pet that no one wants. Pets are abused often; they are then rescued and brought to shelters, where, sadly, they live out their lives, with nobody to love them, no one to care.
Until you have owned and loved a pet, a part of your soul remains unawakened, but you have to be careful because money can buy you a perfect dog, but only love can make the dog use its perfect traits. Some people say that time with a cat is never wasted, but others say that a dog is the only thing that loves you more than it loves itself, so much of this is true, our goal in life should be to be as good of people as our pets think we are.
They motivate us to play, be affectionate, and be loyal. Although many animals will not live to have a great home, we can come together to make it more often than they do. When you get a dog or cat, you should not breed or buy from puppy mills, a mutt makes a great and adorable pet, likewise, retriever or hound mixes are just as wonderful as purebreds. Animal homelessness has to be stopped; we must speak for those who can’t speak for themselves. Spay, neuter, and adopt. Don’t let your dog have puppies, and don’t breed! Each year approximately 3.2 million shelter animals are adopted (1.6 million dogs and 1.6 million cats), That means that adopted animals only rise above euthanized animals by 1.7 million! If people don’t come together to stop this, then there will be no shelters or rescues, no adorable mutts, and no more mixed breeds!
There are many causes and negative impacts to animal homelessness. It is important that we take action to try and stop it. If it is not stopped, we will lose many animals from all over the world. Take action and adopt a pet or donate today.
